Iraq frees Yazidi girl kidnapped by ISIS

A 13-year old Yazidi girl has been freed from the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) and handed over to her family, the Office for Yazidi Abductees Affairs in Duhok said Friday (April 20th).

The girl, who was kidnapped by ISIS on August 3rd, 2014, was freed on Thursday through efforts made in co-ordination with rescue mediators in Syria, the statement said.

The 13-year-old girl is a native of al-Wardiya village, south of Mount Sinjar, it said.
