Iraqi army warplanes target 2 ISIS trucks in al-Rutba

Six "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements were killed in an airstrike targeting two trucks in western Anbar desert, Iraq's Joint Operations Command said Monday (April 2nd).

"The army’s warplanes shelled two vehicles belonging to ISIS as they tried to reach al-Darama village in al-Rutba district," command spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul told Diyaruna.

Intelligence information revealed that the two vehicles were carrying weapons and explosives that were going to be used in future attacks, he said.

"The terrorists were trying to reach al-Darama village to threaten neighbouring al-Rutba city which is now witnessing stability and a gradual return of life," he said.
