Iraqi special forces killed two men planning to blow themselves up north of Baghdad, the Baghdad Operations Command said Thursday (March 15th).
"Acting on intelligence tips, the security forces killed two suicide bombers wearing explosive vests in al-Tarmiya, north of Baghdad," the command said in a statement.
The men were planning to carry out terror attacks targeting innocent civilians in Baghdad before Iraqi forces raided their hideout and killed them, it said.
"The security forces opened a large-scale investigation into the incident to identify those with ties with the suicide bombers," it said.
