Iraqi forces dismantle ISIS cell in Ramadi

A nine-member "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) cell has been dismantled in Ramadi, with seven arrested and the other two still at large, Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij said Thursday (December 28th).

"Special operations troops carried out a carefully-planned two-day operation in the suburbs of Ramadi and its centre, arresting seven ISIS terrorists," he told Diyaruna.

The arrested had joined ISIS a few years ago, and were involved in attacks in which innocent people were killed, he said.

"Weapons and explosives found in their possession were seized," he said, noting that "two cell members are still at large".
