Six "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) suspects were arrested in Mosul based on tips provided by the residents, Ninawa operations commander Nejim Eddin Karim al-Jubury said Friday (December 22nd).
"Acting on tips provided by locals and supported by intelligence efforts, the army arrested six wanted ISIS elements during a large-scale search operation in Tamuz and al-Wehda neighbourhoods," al-Jubury told Diyaruna.
"The army forces found light weapons in the detainees’ possession, including a pistol that belonged to a security element killed a few months ago," he added.
"Operations to arrest the remaining elements of ISIS in Mosul are ongoing thanks to the locals’ co-operation with the security forces," he said.
