International coalition destroys ISIS camp in Anbar desert

An "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) camp in southern Anbar's desert has been destroyed in an international coalition airstrike, the Anbar Operations Command said Tuesday (November 28th).

"Coalition warplanes targeted a former military base in southern Wadi Houran used by ISIS as a headquarters and camp for training its gunmen," command spokesman Col. Mohammed al-Dulaimi told Diyaruna.

"At least 20 terrorists were killed and the camp was fully destroyed along with its weapons, ammunition and assets," he added.

The airstrike was co-ordinated with Iraqi forces on the ground as part of the operations to clear Anbar’s desert, he said.
