ISIS suicide attackers chief killed in western Anbar

Airstrikes on "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) positions in the Anbar desert have killed the official in charge of suicide attackers in the province, the Joint Operations Command said Wednesday (October 25th).

The Iraqi air force conducted pre-emptive strikes on ISIS sites, including a post in the southern Anbar desert, which killed Ahmed al-Issawi, the head of the group's suicide attackers regiment in Anbar, command spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul told Diyaruna.

"Another leader, Rabah al-Halbousi, who is the sharia officer of the so-called Anbar province, and two other militants, were also killed," he said.

Car bombs, various weapons, and two rocket launchers were destroyed in the operation, which was co-ordinated with Iraqi ground forces and the international coalition, he said.
