Joint Iraqi forces killed three "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) suicide bombers, arrested a fourth and dismantled a headquarters on the outskirts of the capital, the Baghdad Operations Command said Friday (August 4th).
"Acting on intelligence about the presence of a terrorist known as Abu Haidar, who heads a military unit in ISIS’s Northern Baghdad Province, in Abu Ghraib, a special operations team was formed and moved on the target and arrested him," the command said in a statement.
Interrogations with the detainee led to uncovering "an underground, high-tech rest house where two suicide bombers and a cell leader, Abu Shahd, were staying, in al-Nabai", it added.
"When the place was raided, a clash broke out and the three were killed," it added, noting that the area and rest house were cordoned off and an explosives vest was dismantled.
