The Iraqi army on Monday (July 10th) found two Yazidi girls left behind by the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) at an abandoned house in newly-liberated Mosul, the ministry of interior said Tuesday.
"The army's 9th Armoured Division freed two Yazidi girls during an operation to clear the remaining areas of al-Midan in western Mosul," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.
The girls were found "in poor health condition in a locked house", Maan said.
"The two girls are victims of ISIS's terrorism as they had been kidnapped three years ago," he said
They were taken to a health centre for treatment before being handed over to their families, he said.
