Airstrikes kill dozens of ISIL elements in western Iraq

Dozens of "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) elements were killed on Sunday (April 30th) in airstrikes launched by Iraqi aircraft, the Ministry of Defence said.

"The Iraqi Air Force on Sunday evening launched a number of airstrikes targeting several ISIL sites in al-Qaim, Husayba, al-Obaidi, al-Karabla and al-Masharie in western Anbar," the ministry said in a statement.

"Forty-four ISIL terrorists, including senior leaders, were killed, and several ISIL sites, shelters, two bomb workshops, and a weapons and ammunition cache were destroyed in the direct hits," it added.
