Coalition destroys important ISIL sites in Mosul

International coalition airstrikes over the past 24 hours have destroyed 11 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) rocket launchers south-west of Mosul, Iraq’s Joint Operations Command said Friday (April 28th).

"The airstrikes, in which several ISIL terrorists were killed, were launched based on co-ordination between the Iraqi forces and the international coalition," command spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasoul told Diyaruna.

The strikes also destroyed three important ISIL sites, he said.

Meanwhile, the ongoing ground battles "are proceeding well", Rasul said, noting that progress was achieved today in al-Seha neighbourhood and the Old City.
