Joint Iraqi forces battling the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) in western Mosul have fully liberated al-Tanak neighbourhood, Ninawa Operations Commander Lt. Gen. Abdul Ameer Rashid Yarallah told Diyaruna on Tuesday (April 25th).
"At dawn on Tuesday, Iraqi forces launched a carefully-planned offensive with support from the international coalition and fully retook al-Tanak neighbourhood," he said.
"They have now advanced in Ghanem al-Sayyid area in al-Hay al-Senaei," Yarallah said.
"At least 30 terrorists were killed and dozens were wounded in the operation, with the group suffering heavy material losses," he said.
