Student killed in ISIL attack on school in Mosul

Rockets launched by the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) on eastern Mosul killed one student and wounded six others on Thursday (February 9th), the Joint Operations Command said.

"A rocket attack launched by ISIL from the western side of Mosul targeted a school in east Mosul's al-Zohoor neighbourhood two days after the schools have resumed in the liberated areas," joint operations command spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul told Diyaruna.

"A rocket fell in the school yard, killing one student and wounding six others," he said.

International coalition fighter jets dealt with the source of fire, Rasul said.
