Anbar police offer rewards for reporting ISIL elements

The Anbar police have set up two hot lines and are offering rewards to anyone who reports "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) fighters in the province, police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij said Friday (February 3rd).

Rewards are being offered to citizens who report ISIL elements hiding among residents returning to their liberated areas, Erzaij told Diyaruna.

"Two hot lines -- 140 and 130 -- have been set up for reporting ISIL elements, and the police will guarantee the confidentiality of the caller's identity and will offer lucrative rewards," he said.

"We hope that through citizens’ co-operation, we will create [a better] life in our cities and enable our children to go out into the streets" without fear of being harmed, he added.

Citizens’ co-operation in the last six days has helped arrest nine wanted ISIL elements and 18 suspects, Erzaij said.
