ISIL 'information minister' killed in Ninawa

An Iraqi airstrike killed the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) group's "information minister of Wilayat Ninawa", the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Wednesday (November 23rd).

"Ziad Kharufa, the information minister in ISIL's so-called Wilayat Ninawa, who oversaw the production of films for the group, has been killed in an Iraqi airstrike," the ministry said in a statement.

"Kharufa’s funeral was held in al-Hay al-Harbi in eastern Mosul, under strict security by ISIL," the statement said.

Meanwhile, Iraqi forces have fully retaken the area of Jadidat al-Mufti, south-east Mosul, and raised the Iraqi flag on the health centre building, Ninawa Operations commander Nejim Edin Karim al-Jubury told Diyaruna.

"Battles south, north and west of Mosul are also proceeding well amid heavy ISIL losses in terms of lives and assets," he said.
