ISIL-claimed suicide attack kills at least 20 at Iraq wedding

The death toll from a terrorist blast that targeted a wedding south of Fallujah has risen to 20, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior said Friday (November 18th).

A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at a wedding gathering in Ameriyat al-Fallujah on Thursday, killing at least 20 people, including the groom, and wounding 46 others, ministry spokesperson Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.

The attack was claimed by the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL).

"Several women and children are in a serious condition," Maan said.

"The attack reflects the reality of ISIL and the need to continue to fight it," he said.
