ISIL executes 25 civilians in Mosul

The "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) has executed 25 civilians in Mosul over accusations of collaborating with Iraqi security forces, Iraq’s Independent High Commission for Human Rights said Wednesday (November 16th).

The victims were brought from different regions of Ninawa province, the Commission said in a statement.

"The group is holding the bodies of the executed men at the forensic medicine facility and is refusing to hand them to their families, arguing that they are infidels who do not deserve to be buried," the statement said.

"ISIL is also detaining 2,000 residents and has taken them to Tal Afar to use them as human shields after accusing them of treason and other charges," the statement said, citing sources in Mosul.

"The group detains people if it finds phones, computers or other similar communication devices with them and then executes them," the statement said.
