Over 100,000 displaced families return to Anbar

More than 100,000 displaced families have returned home in areas liberated from the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) in Anbar province , Iraqi officials said Monday (November 14th).

Over 53,000 families have returned to Ramadi, Anbar's Migration and Displacement Department head Mohammed Rasheed said in a statement.

An additional 22,000 families have returned to Fallujah; 8,000 families to al-Khalidiya; 7,000 families to Heet; 6,000 families to al-Karma; 2,000 to Haditha and more than 1,000 to al-Rutbah, he said.

"Efforts are under way to bring the remaining families back as part of a UN-assisted government programme to restore stability to cities liberated from ISIL," Rasheed said.
