ISIL commander killed in Anbar coalition airstrike

An international coalition airstrike on Friday (November 4th) targeted a meeting of "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) elements in western Iraq, killing a top commander and three of his aides, Iraqi police in Anbar said.

Mustafa Aloush al-Jughaifi, who was in charge of rigging vehicles with explosives and making improvised explosive devices (IEDs), was killed when an airstrike hit an ISIL gathering in al-Makhazen al-Qadima area, west of Anah in Anbar province, Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij told Diyaruna.

"ISIL is trying hard to make weapons and IEDs and rig vehicles with explosives in a desperate attempt to stop the advance of combat units and prevent them from clearing the western areas of Anbar," he said.
