25 ISIL elements killed on Iraq-Syria border

International coalition airstrikes killed 25 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) elements at locations near the Iraq-Syria border, the Iraqi army’s al-Jazeera Operations Command said Monday (October 10th).

"Coalition fighter jets have launched a series of successful airstrikes targeting ISIL gatherings, convoys and a weapons depot in al-Qaim desert on the Syria border," the command said in a statement.

The strikes killed 25 terrorists, including a number of foreign fighters, the statement said, adding that the operation paves way for the army's advance to retake the area.
