Coalition airstrikes target ISIL elements across Iraq

Coalition airstrikes killed 13 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) elements in western Anbar, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Thursday (October 6th).

“International coalition fighter jets on Thursday dawn launched an airstrike targeting an ISIL headquarters in al-Bakr area [...] killing 13 ISIL elements, including foreigners,” ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul told Diyaruna.

“Two vehicles, each carrying a medium machine gun, and another large truck carrying TNT containers, light and medium weapons, as well as three mortars have been destroyed,” Rasul said.

Additionally, ten ISIL elements were killed in a coalition airstrike targeting ISIL sites in al-Qayyarah, south of Mosul, Ninawa Operations Command said Thursday (October 6th).

“International coalition fighter jets on Thursday shelled an ISIL site in Kharaeb Jabr village, Qayyarah, 60 kilometres south of Mosul, killing 10 ISIL elements,” the command said in a statement.
