Coalition airstrike targets ISIL al-hesba office in Ninawa

An international coalition airstrike on Wednesday (September 28th) hit the al-hesba (religious police) office of the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) south of the city of Mosul and killed a prominent member of the group, according to the Ninawa Operations Command.

"Coalition fighter jets have today hit ISIL targets south of Mosul, including the so-called al-hesbah office in al-Hod," Ninawa Operations Commander Nejim Edin Karim al-Jubury told Diyaruna.

The airstrike killed Ali Aziz Mohammed al-Sabaawi, also known as Abu Tahrir, who is in charge of al-hesba office for the areas of al-Qayyara and al-Shora in southern Ninawa, along with three of his aides, he said.
