Iraqi forces dismantled a six-member "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) cell in a joint security operation in south-western Kirkuk, police said Thursday (September 15th).
"A joint force arrested six ISIL members of a cell engaged in terrorist blasts and assassinations," Kirkuk police spokesman Col. Salam al-Jaf said.
"The security forces simultaneously stormed two buildings where the cell members were staying in al-Askari area, and arrested them all," he said, noting that "the operation was based on a detained terrorist’s confessions".
