Iraqi forces disarm rigged Fallujah houses

Iraqi forces have dismantled 100 houses rigged with explosives and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in western Fallujah, Anbar Operations Command said Tuesday (September 6th).

“As part of operations to comb, search and secure liberated areas in al-Nassaf and al-Halabsa, western Fallujah, the security forces cleared 100 houses rigged with explosives and dismantled dozens of IEDs and landmines left behind by the 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL),” Anbar Military Operations Commander Maj. Gen. Ismail al-Mahalawi said in a statement.

“The security forces are working on securing all areas in western Fallujah in preparation for the return of displaced people,” the statement said.
