The government complex in al-Qayyara and the centre of town have been fully liberated from the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)", the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Wednesday (August 24th).
“The Iraqi forces are proceeding with their combing operations to eliminate the ISIL pockets and remnants around the town’s neighbourhoods and streets,” a ministry statement said.
“The completion of operation and liberation of al-Qayyara will be officially announced later,” the statement said.
