12 ISIL gunmen killed north of Mosul

Coalition aircraft killed 12 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) gunmen north of Mosul, Ninawa Operations Command said Monday (August 22nd).

“International coalition fighter jets on Monday morning targeted ISIL sites and headquarters in Kukajli village, Bashiqa, 25 kilometres north of Mosul, killing at least 12 gunmen and wounding several others, and destroying two headquarters, one weapons cache and ten four-wheel-drive vehicles,” Ninawa Operations Commander Nejim Edin Karim al-Jubury told Diyaruna.

“The airstrikes will eventually degrade the group and disrupt its military infrastructure to facilitate our ground forces’ advance to liberate Mosul,” he said.
