Coalition targets ISIL gathering south of Mosul

Coalition airstrikes killed 20 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) fighters south of Mosul, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Wednesday (August 3rd).

“Acting on intelligence provided by the Intelligence and Security Directorate in Ninawa, international coalition fighter jets Tuesday evening launched an airstrike targeting an ISIL gathering in Jad'a, a village in al-Qayyara, killing 20 terrorists,” the ministry said in a statement.

“A vehicle packed with explosives also was destroyed in Zahilia village in the same area,” the statement said.
