Iraqi aircraft destroyed numerous "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) targets in al-Hawijah in south-western Kirkuk province, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Wednesday (July 13th).
“Acting on intelligence provided by the General Intelligence Directorate [...] Iraqi air force falcons launched several airstrikes," said ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said the targets included an ISIL camp in Arkhima village; shops in al-Zab the group used as a media headquarters; hideouts of several ISIL elements; an ISIL "police" headquarters; bomb-making plants; a large weapons cache; three large caravans containing weapons; and a hideout the group used for detaining Iraqi security personnel.
