Coalition air strikes destroy ISIL training camp south of Mosul

International coalition fighter jets have carried out three air strikes against a training camp and two rocket launchers belonging to the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)" near al-Qayyara, 90 kilometres south of Mosul, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said Wednesday (July 6th).

“In co-ordination with Iraqi forces, international coalition fighter jets launched successful air strikes targeting three ISIL sites near al-Qayyara base and al-Haj village, including a small camp for training and sheltering gunmen and two rocket launchers used by ISIL to shell Iraqi forces and villages outside its control near al-Qayyara, Makhmour,” ministry spokesperson Brig. Gen. Saad Maan said.

“At least 30 terrorists were killed and rocket launchers and one stockpile of weapons and ammunition were destroyed in the air strikes,” he added.
