The Iraqi army killed nine "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) gunmen in the battles to liberate the villages of Jubbah and al-Dulab in western Anbar, the al-Jazeera operations command said Thursday (June 30th).
"Joint forces killed nine ISIL gunmen in Jubbah and al-Dulab, and destroyed three boats on the Euphrates River and a booby-trapped motorcycle in an operation to recapture the two areas," al-Jazeera Operations Commander Maj. Gen. Qassim al-Muhammadi told Al-Shorfa.
"There are intermittent but ongoing clashes between the Iraqi forces and ISIL fighters since Thursday morning, with support from international coalition aircraft," he said.
