Joint Iraqi forces liberated the village of Talul al-Baj in Salaheddine province from the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) on Tuesday (June 28th). This operation is part of the ongoing military advance on al-Shirqat.

"Units from the counter-terrorism agency and 9th Armoured Division have liberated Talul al-Baj in al-Shirqat district, and raised the Iraqi flag on its buildings," the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

"The liberating forces have remotely blown up several vehicles packed with explosives and inflicted human and material losses on the enemy," the statement said, noting that they continue to make progress to liberate al-Shirqat.
