Iraqi security forces installed 18 sophisticated explosives detectors to check vehicles entering Baghdad, the Ministry of Interior said Tuesday (June 28th).
"Security forces have installed 18 sonar-equipped vehicles featuring remote explosives detectors at the various entrances of Baghdad to prevent the entry of booby-trapped cars into the capital," the ministry said in a statement.
"These devices are more advanced than the previous generation given they include a sophisticated x-ray system that allows for better detection, provides coloured images and distinguishes organic versus inorganic materials," the statement said.
