International coalition airstrikes on Monday (June 27th) destroyed three control towers belonging to the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) in al-Shirqat, north of Salaheddine’s provincial capital of Tikrit, according to the Ministry of Interior.
"Coalition fighter jets have today hit three towers used by ISIL terrorists for sniper and monitoring operations," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Al-Shorfa.
The airstrikes also targeted a weapons cache and a rest house for ISIL elements, completely destroying them, he said.
