The Iraqi police in Salaheddine province on Wednesday (June 22nd) foiled an attack by "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) elements in northern Baiji, the federal police command said.
Forces from the 9th Brigade of the federal police's 3rd Division destroyed two car bombs and an explosives-laden bulldozer in the area of al-Siniya, Federal Police Chief Maj. Gen. Raed Shaker Jawdat said in a statement.
Six ISIL elements were also killed in the Wednesday morning attack, he said.
