Coalition strikes ISIL positions near Mosul

Coalition airstrikes hit several "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) positions to the south and west of Mosul, the Ninawa operations command said Tuesday (June 21st).

A series of Tuesday morning strikes targeted a number of ISIL positions, the command said in a statement.

The raid, which was based on intelligence information, destroyed an ISIL mortar in the village of Ajahla and killed two of the group's fighters, the statement said.

The airstrikes also killed seven ISIL fighters in the village of Albu Wawi and four in Qadila village, it added.

Coalition aircraft also bombed an ISIL headquarters in its so-called 'mosques and iftaa diwan' in the village of al-Hood at al-Zawiya intersection, killing 12 of the group's fighters, the statement said.
