Airstrike targets ISIL convoy on Iraq-Syria border

A coalition airstrike killed and wounded at least 20 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) elements in an attack on an armed convoy in Husayba in western Anbar, along the international border with Syria, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said Friday (June 17th).

"International coalition warplanes targeted an ISIL convoy consisting of six four-wheel-drive vehicles as they crossed the border from Syria’s Albu Kamal to Iraq’s Husayba," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Al-Shorfa.

At least 20 ISIL gunmen were killed and the six vehicles, along with explosives, weapons and money on board, were destroyed, he said.
