Iraqi forces dismantled an "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) terror cell in a security operation in southern Baqubah, the Iraqi police in Diyala province said Wednesday (June 8th).
"A Diyala police force arrested three ISIL elements forming a sleeper cell in an area in southern Baqubah," Diyala police chief Maj. Gen. Jassim al-Saadi said in a statement to the media.
"A security team with the police on Wednesday morning also dismantled improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by unknown assailants in a number of areas to target innocent people," he added.
