An international coalition airstrike on Friday (June 3rd) killed at least 20 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) elements in Anbar's town of al-Qaim, the Ministry of Interior said.
"Coalition fighter jets targeted an ISIL site in Husayba al-Gharbia used to shelter the group's elements who come from Syria to Iraq," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Al-Shorfa.
"Initial information confirms that at least 20 terrorists were killed in the airstrike," he said, noting that the explosion of ammunition and weapons stored inside the place caused a fire that lasted for several hours after the offensive.
