An "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) cell planning attacks during Eid al-Adha has been dismantled in Anbar’s provincial capital of Ramadi, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Tuesday (August 6th).
"The Iraqi army’s Intelligence Agency has dismantled an ISIS cell planning terrorist operations in Ramadi during Eid al-Adha," the ministry said in a statement.
All of the cell's members were arrested, he said, adding that more details will be released after investigations are completed.
Local residents co-operated with the security forces in this "high-level operation", the statement said.
