Bombardment in north-west Syria kills 11 civilians

Syrian regime and Russian bombardment on Sunday (July 28th) killed 11 civilians in north-western Syria where ramped up attacks have claimed hundreds of lives since April, AFP reported.

The strikes came as Syrian regime forces launched an assault on extremists and allied opposition fighters in Hama province, killing nine combatants, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The fighting in the village of Tal Maleh in northern Hama also left four regime fighters dead, the Observatory added.

Northern Hama, along with Idlib province and parts of Aleppo and Latakia, are under the control of Tahrir al-Sham.

Regime airstrikes Sunday killed five civilians in the Idlib town of Ariha, while Russian raids killed three civilians in northern Hama, the Observatory said.

Shelling and airstrikes by the regime also killed three other civilians elsewhere in the north-west, it added.

The bombardment comes a day after regime and Russian airstrikes on the region killed 15 civilians, including 11 in Ariha, the Observatory said.
