Bomb workshop found in south-west Kirkuk

A workshop for rigging vehicles with explosives and making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was found during a search operation in al-Riyadh, in south-west Kirkuk, the Iraqi police said on Wednesday (July 17th).

The workshop is part of a large hall at a deserted house in al-Riyadh, Lt. Col. Ahmed al-Helou of Kirkuk police told Diyaruna.

"The workshop contained IEDs, explosives, weapons, and supplies used in rigging vehicles with explosives, including remote detonators and connection wires," he said.

"The workshop contents were removed to a safe place for disposal, and fingerprints were lifted from the place to identify those involved," he said.
