Seven militants were killed in an international coalition airstrike carried out in co-ordination with Iraqi forces in Salaheddine province, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Monday (July 15th).
"Security forces from the Salaheddine Operations Command carried out a large-scale security operation in the province with the support of international coalition warplanes," the ministry said in a statement.
"One terrorist was killed in a raid on a hideout belonging to the 'Islamic State of Iraq and Syria' (ISIS), and seven others were killed in a coalition airstrike conducted as part of the same operation in co-ordination with Iraqi forces on the ground," it said.
One four-wheel-drive vehicle, several motorcycles, communications devices, weapons, money in US dollars and the Syrian lira, and various other items were found in the raid, the statement said.
