International coalition airstrikes have killed nine "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) militants in desert areas north and west of Ninawa over the past two days, the Ninawa Operations Command said Monday (July 15th).
"Joint co-ordination efforts between the Iraqi ground forces and the international coalition over the past two days have led to several successful airstrikes carried out by coalition warplanes in Sneisla, al-Baaj and Hatra," commander Maj. Gen. Numan al-Zawbaie told Diyaruna.
Several ISIS hideouts were targeted, he said, noting that nine militants were killed, and two weapons, ammunition and explosives caches were destroyed in the airstrikes.
