Multiple explosions rock central Kirkuk

At least three civilians were killed and 16 others wounded in a series of explosions that hit central Kirkuk at a late hour Thursday (May 30th), the Iraqi Security Media Cell said.

The Media Cell said six improvised explosive devices (IEDs) exploded on Jerusalem street, al-Muhafaza and the Baghdad-Kirkuk highway, adding that security personnel managed to defuse two of them.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident, but "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) cells are still active in the area after the group's defeat in Iraq last December.
