Yazidi girl freed in Anbar desert

A Yazidi girl who had been detained by the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) in Iraq's Anbar province was recently freed, Iraq's Joint Operations Command said Thursday (May 30th).

"A force from the Interior Ministry’s Intelligence Agency has freed a kidnapped Yazidi girl who was detained at an ISIS hideout in the Anbar desert," the command said in a statement.

"Security forces had raided the hideout earlier and killed seven terrorists," it said, noting that "the operation was carried out based on accurate intelligence from the Federal Police Intelligence Directorate".
