ISIS cell dismantled in Salaheddine

Iraqi forces have dismantled an "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) cell operating in Salaheddine province, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Thursday (May 9th).

"Units of the Military Intelligence Directorate infiltrated and dismantled a terror cell operating in Salaheddine, which supplied terror groups with weapons, ammunition and explosives," the ministry said in a statement.

"Security forces arrested the mastermind of the cell," it said, noting that they also seized Kalashnikovs, ammunition, several cell phones, one four-wheel-drive vehicle, several number plates, and fake IDs in his possession.

"All 11 members of the cell were arrested," it said.
