Iraqi forces seize ISIS rockets in western Anbar

Iraqi forces seized more than 30 rockets they found in an underground cache belonging to the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) in the western desert of Anbar, the Anbar Operations Command said Wednesday (April 17th).

Army forces discovered the underground cache in Wadi al-Qadhaf, Anbar Operations Commander Maj. Gen. Mahmoud al-Falahi told Diyaruna.

It contained 34 Katyusha rockets "that had been locally modified by ISIS terrorists to boost their ranges", he said, as well as launch boosters, a detonation cord, remote control devices and other items.

Iraqi forces will continue "to comb Anbar's desert in search of ISIS hideouts and headquarters until the area has been fully cleared", al-Falahi said.
