Iraqi forces bust terror cell behind recent Mosul attacks

The terror cell behind two recent bombings at markets in al-Muthanna and al-Majmoua al-Thaqafiya neighbourhoods in Mosul has been dismantled, Iraq's Joint Operations Command said on Monday (April 1st).

"Security forces have dismantled the terror cell which was responsible for blowing up two vehicles packed with explosives" in Mosul, the command said in a statement.

"The cell consists of five members, and each one of them played a certain role in the terrorist operations in which civilians were killed," it said.

"One of the members was involved in stealing vehicles and forging number plates, while others were responsible for preparing explosives and transferring them from the bomb-making locations to inhabited areas," the statement said.
