Anbar's Operations Command said Wednesday (March 6th) it has arrested two "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements in an airdrop in Wadi al-Mafaza in Anbar's desert.
Weapons, explosives, a four-wheel-drive vehicle and communication devices were also seized in the operation.
"Acting on prior intelligence about terrorist activities in Wadi al-Mafaza, west of al-Rutba, Iraqi army forces carried out an airdrop and arrested two Iraqi militants at an underground tunnel," Commander Maj. Gen. Mahmoud al-Falahi told Diyaruna.
"The tunnel also features a room that can accommodate several people," he said.
Iraqi forces destroyed the hideout and took the two detainees to a security detention facility for interrogation, he said.
