Car bomb kills 1 civilian, injures 13 in Mosul

At least one civilian was killed in a terror attack involving a vehicle packed with explosives in eastern Mosul on Thursday (February 28th) evening, local media reported.

A booby-trapped vehicle parked near a shop in al-Mantiqa al-Thaqafiya neighbourhood in Mosul exploded, killing one civilian and wounding 13 others, including three children, Ninawa police chief Brig. Gen. Hamad Namis al-Jubury told Diyaruna.

Initial investigations indicate that the attack was carried out by an "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) affiliated group, he said.

"Security forces are now checking surveillance camera recordings and other sources to identify the perpetrators," he said.
